Patio Enclosures® Sunrooms Are a Must for Scotia, N.Y., Homeowners
Mr. and Mrs. O, have had a Patio Enclosures sunroom installed on every home they’ve owned since 1995. View other sunrooms they've owned.
Mr. and Mrs. O moved into this Scotia, N.Y., brick home in 2013. Having had Patio Enclosures sunrooms on their previous two homes, they once again called on Patio Enclosures to add a custom-made sunroom to this home.
They met with their design consultant, Tony, and discussed the options. Tony took note of the fact that this lot was very different from their last property, no trees and lots of full sun, and that the owners wanted to match the 1950s style and hip roof of the house.
A four season traditional sunroom was custom designed just for them with a roof, shingles and siding to match the existing brick house perfectly. Unlike the previous enclosures, this “stick-built” room has a wood frame making it more of a traditional room addition. The year-round, traditional sunroom has R50 insulation and Stanek Windows with triple-pane glass installed for energy efficiency and comfort all year long.
A bow window on the back of the house was removed to provide access to the new space and state-of-the-art steel footing posts from Techno Metal Post were used because they are far superior to traditional concrete footings. A deck was added to the front of the room for days when the New York weather is perfect for sitting outside. And, when the homeowners need to escape rain, snow or bugs, they can be cozy and dry inside the room while still enjoying fabulous views of nature in their backyard.
As with the previous two Patio Enclosures sunrooms, the Schenectady County homeowners are thrilled with the end result and are completely enjoying their new space.
