Patio Enclosures® Transforms Open Deck into Four Season Room
Patio Enclosures of Glen Burnie, Md., transformed this open deck into a lovely year-round living space where the couple can enjoy nature with their family and friends. “This is a quiet place,” says Linda F. of Arnold, Maryland.
Weary of being restricted to using their open deck only in nice summer weather, the couple wanted a room they could use all year that did not give up the views of the birds in their lovely backyard. They wanted someone to custom design and build a sunroom just for them, so they contacted Patio Enclosures®. The four season room was built over half of the deck and follows the contours of the deck. It was designed to complement the home with matching shingles on the gable roof. Inside, wood planks cover the ceiling and match the home’s light-colored wood floors.
Floor-to-ceiling windows allow expansive views of the garden, trees and wildlife around the home. “Nature is right out there,” said owner, Phil F., pointing to the backyard. Glass roof panels allow even more natural light into the room and offer a beautiful view of the stars at night.
Double-pane insulated glass keeps the room cool in the summer and warm in the winter when the winds blow off the nearby Chesapeake Bay. The floor and roof are also insulated to keep the room comfortable and reduce energy costs.
Sliding glass doors connect the sunroom to the family room which allows guests to flow in and out with ease. The couple finds their new four season room as an ideal space to entertain their family and friends. The couple now enjoys the outdoors rain or shine, summer or winter.
Imagine not having any more summer barbecues ruined by rain!
