Patio Enclosures Sunroom Allows Year-Round “Outdoor” Living
An uncovered patio consisting of a plain concrete pad has become a year-round living space for a Lewiston, New York, family.
Finding they didn’t get much use from an open patio, especially with the Buffalo area’s harsh winters, the homeowners contacted Patio Enclosures of West Seneca, NY. Design Consultant Andrew Mulichak visited the couple in their home to assess their needs, understand their vision and take measurements.
Working with the in-house engineering staff at Patio Enclosures, Andrew designed a truly unique space that perfectly suits the couple and the complements their home. The four season room features a Patio Enclosures roof system that is built with structural I-beams every three feet to withstand the Niagara County snows. Andrew then incorporated picture windows and patio doors from Stanek® Windows, Patio Enclosures’ sister brand, for energy efficiency. The room was sided to match the exterior of the home and stone accents were added for visual interest.
Inside the room is finished in tongue and groove pine, while the windows and doors are trimmed in pine with matching baseboards. The three patio doors and large picture windows in the gable roof let in of natural light and allow expansive views of the backyard.
The couple reports the room turned out wonderfully and is exactly what they wanted. They are very happy and would recommend Patio Enclosures to anyone looking to expand their living area.
