With two small children and all their playthings, Mr. and Mrs. K of Morristown, NJ, needed more space. Because they also enjoyed the outdoors, they called Patio Enclosures® to see if they could help solve this problem.
Design Consultant Agnes Rizzo visited the couple and explained to them how they could expand their living space with a bright sunroom. Agnes proposed a large three-season room with insulated glass which would help make the room usable most of the year.
The room was designed and built with a gable roof to mimic the existing gables on the home and the white color of the sunroom frame matched the existing trim. The result is a room that complements the home perfectly, adding value to the home.
The existing deck was expanded and the room was built on top of a portion of it. The remainder of the deck was left open and resurfaced with durable, low maintenance composite material. As a final touch, a new, bright white railing was also added to coordinate the sunroom.
With floor-to-ceiling windows, what we call the Patio Enclosures Edge-to-Edge Advantage, the family has expansive views of their backyard and abundant sunlight while remaining protected from the elements. The advanced Weatherlock with interlock sash seals out drafts and moisture around the doors and windows while they still roll easily on stainless steel ball-bearing wheels.
When the weather is nice, aluminum screens allow the warm breezes to enter while keeping pesky insects out and the nearly invisible black-painted mesh stays cleaner than fiberglass and resists sagging. That, along with durable, chip resistant powder-coated aluminum frame, keeps maintenance to a minimum.
In addition to providing a play area for the children, the three-season sunroom and adjoining deck have become a true indoor/outdoor entertaining space that the family will enjoy for years to come.
